- Our central spines are made from a high grade Australian steel;
- We use heavy duty beams RHS 150x100x5mm that have a span of up to 6m;
- Riser material is 100x100x5mm and we have a latest riser design which is shaped like a shark fin;
- Our tread supports are extra thick 150x10mm;
- We generally use standard timbers such as Jarrah, Malaysian Cherry and Victorian Ash for treads and we hold these timbers in stock ready for shipping;
- Prior to shipping we weld our steel spines together to ensure everything is level and plumb;
- All our welds are hidden and the surface of the spine is body filled to provide a smooth finish;
- We finish all our steel spines in a spray finish etch primed with an industrial grey paint to avoid rusting;
- In addition, as requested we can custom paint steel spines such as we have the latest metallic bronze and silver colours available;
- We only use heavy duty industrial strength bolts and fixings for concrete or timber;
- We have recently provided an option to use LED lights which are concealed under handrails and treads. This allows the staircase to be shown as a feature at night; and

Our DIY staircases are very easy to install for the home handy person and only the basic tools are required. If requested, at an additional price, we can arrange for a qualified tradesperson to install the staircase. We have easy to follow instructions which can be downloaded from our website plus if you require further information or help you can call our expert staff which is more than happy to help. Please note that in some cases, a block and chain may be required for lifting the stairs into position.
